TIP OF THE DAY: And the kids are alright…
If you are having children at your wedding, think about providing some sort of activity or entertainment to keep them occupied throughout the day. It can be a long day for a youngster, and when a kid gets bored, they just give their parents grief. When the kids are happy, you don’t hear a peep from them.
One of the simplest things to do is have a ‘kids table’ for the duration of the meal. Seat all the kids in the one place rather than scattered about with their parents…they have a better time interacting with the other kids and the parents can relax and enjoy themselves too knowing they are happy and occupied. You can even hire a kids entertainer or magician or something to keep the kids amused…or what about a balloon artist? I’ve even seen companies that provide a kind of pop up soft play area so discuss your ideas with your venue and see what you can come up with.
Also, remember it is YOUR wedding…if you don’t want any kids there then don’t be afraid to request this on your invites but it really needs to be all or nothing. If you have some kids there, then it looks like it’s something personal about the kids that you’ve asked not to come so watch out!
