Hello, and first of all let me say a massive Thank You for taking the time to look at my page.
I kind of ‘fell’ into photography by accident, but when I did fall, I fell head over heels!
When I had my daughter back in 2004, I treated myself to my first DSLR camera and a book telling me how to use it. I found that I was actually quite good at taking photos so took about trawling the internet to find different skills and techniques. Before I knew it I was getting requests from all over the place to do their photos…so even though I was working part time elsewhere, I was doing photography on the side.
In 2009, after 5 years of teaching myself the art, Emma Gray Photography was officially launched.
I soon decided I needed to learn more about photography so that I really knew what I was talking about technically – so I enrolled on a photography course at North Glasgow College and went right back to the basics, including developing in a dark room…I loved it!
To cut a long story short, my photography business went from strength to strength with word of mouth bringing me in more work than I could handle which was fantastic. So in April 2013 I took the huge leap into opening my own studio in the heart of Falkirk Town Centre and haven’t looked back since!
I love what I do. I love the fact that I can create memories for people to look back on time and time again. I have a real passion for photography, and love the fact that I can unleash my creative side as well……proves I didn’t study art at college for nothing!
I am very much a people person as well so you will find you are very relaxed with me taking your photo, even if usually you hate being in front of the lens!
I work mainly in the Central Scotland region, but happy to travel as well. I am originally from Birmingham but moved to Scotland in 1998 after meeting my husband.
I have a fantastic husband, 2 wonderful children, a career that I love and my own photography studio……Life is pretty sweet at the moment x
I am also pleased to announce that I have made the nominee shortlist for wedding photographer of the year at the Scottish VOWS awards for 4 years running now and WON my category for wedding photographer of the year in 2015 and 2017…the Vows awards mean a great deal to me as it goes on the service you provide as well as your photographs and you are nominated by your wedding customers. I do everything I can to deliver a first class service to all of my customers.
